This cinema is situated inside an old 1930s car showroom and is one of the largest independent cinemas in Europe. Showroom is also home to Workstation - the creative hub - which holds networking events for digital businesses across Sheffield. They show all the newest films but also stream productions by the National Theatre, RSC and Bolshoi Ballet. They also have a family film club which allows parents to bring their children along to a film and on Saturdays, the film is followed by a free arts and crafts session! In addition, there are Dementia and Autism friendly film screenings, Baby-friendly film screenings and even coffee morning screenings for senior citizens.
16 George Street, a Grade II listed building which was once owned by the Sheffield Banking Company, is now home to Curzon Cinema. This cinema has 3 screens all with Sony 4K projectors, the largest occupying 62 seats. Why not make a night out of your movie trip and enjoy a meal and drink at the bar or up on the rooftop terrace? All of the screens are equipped with high-technology hearing and audio assistance. There is a Kids Club every Saturday too. Theatre screenings are frequent at Curzon with regular streamings of the Met Opera and the Royal Opera House. Curzon even has a fireplace which they decorate dedicated to newly released films!
