On the 12th day of Christmas, MK gave to me! - Let Ready

On the 12th day of Christmas, MK gave to me!

We can’t contain it any longer. Christmas has arrived in Milton Keynes, with luminous lights, several Santas and mountains of mulled wine. So, we’re getting festive at Let Ready this month by celebrating the 12 days of Christmas and why Milton Keynes is the place to be.

We're a stone's throw from MK's hottest shopping spot. Or swing by to our café for a coffee & mince pie?

On the first day of Christmas, MK gave to me…

1. Elves

Where would Santa be without his elves? Probably the same place you’d be without your team - in deep snow. Milton Keynes is brimming with talented employees, freelancers and entrepreneurs, making it the ideal place for growing businesses and expanding workforces.

2. Reindeer

Of course, all of your elves’ hard work would go to waste without a present-delivering team. Milton Keynes’ reindeer clan includes DHL, Deliveroo and our famous Starship robots. Whether you’re sending out orders or ordering in the stollen, Milton Keynes delivers.

3. Christmas dinner

Getting to the good stuff, there’s no shortage of places to eat in the city of dreams, from business brunches right through to those final fries. We’re also lucky to be seeing an explosion of new independents pop up, including Mediterranean hot spot DeRoka, British delight Oscar’s Restaurant and Bar, and, of course, our famous Friday eats.

4. Mulled wine

And what’s Christmas dinner without a glass of mulled wine after. MK has plenty of spots for an after-work tipple, including the newly opened Japanese bar, The Blossom Room. With the Hub just a stone’s throw away from Witan Studios, you can kick back with the team to celebrate 2019, or wine and dine customers ready for 2020.

5. Jingle bell rock

Speaking of drink, it’s that work party time of year again. For the teams wanting a relaxed and social festive get-together, BrewDog offers the perfect vibe. You can celebrate with a beer, let loose with some table tennis and even try one of their famous deep-fried Haggis croquettes. For those of you after a more elaborate end-of-year party, Willen Lake is again the place to be, with its 2019 electric jungle themed party night. Or how about some crazy golf or dancing on tables.

6. Presents

We can’t write a blog about Christmas without mentioning the present wonderland that is the Centre:MK. More than five thousand employees will be helping you to deliver this Christmas across a variety of different shops and stalls. This is also an extra special Christmas for the Centre:MK, who has just celebrated its 40th birthday (take a look here).

7. Trees

Did you know that MK has over 22 million trees? They even have their own website. While these aren’t all of the “bring it inside and throw on some tinsel” kind, they still have an essential function in a city otherwise known for its concrete cows. With more than 5,000 acres of parkland, rivers, lakes and woodland, MK promotes a healthy and active lifestyle.

8. Sleighs

Whether you’re flying, walking or driving home for Christmas, there are plenty of transport options to suit. In fact, you can get to London, Oxford, Birmingham, or Cambridge in just an hour and a half - ideal for client meets, commuting and exploring.

9. Recycling

Santa’s little known passion is that of recycling, and it’s something that we’ll be focusing more on next year. In the meantime, you can get one step ahead by booking your Willen Hospice tree recycling here and ordering extra recycling sacks here.

10. Growth

It’s not only bellies growing over the next few weeks. 2020 will take MK one year closer to its 500,000 residents by 2050 plan that will see between 28,000-32,000 more jobs by 2031. You best get planning, but before that...

11. Relaxation

Christmas isn’t known as the most relaxing time of the year, but our resident masseur can help. Kristen offers Witan Studio members a variety of different massages on a Wednesday. Just book here.

12. You

And on the 12th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...you. It’s Christmas, so we had to throw a bit of love out there. Thank you to all of our residents for a brilliant 2019 and here’s to an even better 2020.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
